I keep trying to dress for Fall, but this 70+ degree weather every day makes it tough.

Of all the crazy things in our economy--soaring mortgage costs, frightened lenders, rollercoaster stock markets and seesawing commodities--this is the one that scares and saddens me the most:

I hope you and your respective places of business are doing well. Losing a job is hard and disheartening, and I do not wish it on anyone.

This weekend we saw Patrick Stewart in a production of Macbeth at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It was a great show, and not just because of Patrick Stewart (who was of course excellent). The production itself was quiet unique, placed in a sort of Post-WWII Communist Russia, with a very stark stage and effective use of the lighting, projectors and the theater sound system to evoke all the creepy, supernatural elements of the play. It was a great experience.

Amy and I had a lazy Sunday involving a late sleep, a trip to the mall, Stardust (the movie), and some Rock Band.

I have discovered the wonders of ebay.

I got really paranoid about prospective employers and people googling me, so from now on most of my stuff will be friends only. Shouldn't affect any of you, because if you're reading this you're probably my friend.

My analysis:

Sam Raimi was tired. Really tired.

I forgive you, Sam. Just please learn from this. Spider-man doesn't need another movie and if he does for whatever reason, please hang up your hat and hand it over to someone else. You had a good run, but you obviously moved on well before finishing this iteration.

First day on the job is almost up. Things went pretty well. I'll go into more detail at the end of the week. However, I am surprised that some of the experience I acquired at BCC is actually be applicable here.

And I'm getting business cards. How cool is that?

Wow, I'd never seen these before. The first one came out in 2003, and the second pretty recently (past few months I think). Seems like everyone can do decent lightsaber effects now. I was more impressed by the choreography. Very cool.
